Mykim Tran started her career as a speaker in 2010 in motivating and inspiring youths to feel good about themselves. Wake-Up Foundation was founded in 2013 after Mykim moved to South Sacramento to continue her works, where she encountered a lot of low-income youths and families. She also met many community advocates who encouraged her to start a non-profit to provide her services to the community. The moment she learned about the non-profit community, she seized the opportunity immediately.

Mykim received her bachelor's degree in Media Communication in 2008 and a Master's degree in Health Psychology in 2013. She is also currently a Ph.D. student at Saybrook University, with a focus on Humanistic Psychology.

In 2019, Wake-Up Foundation was featured on "LiveWire," a television programming sponsored by Access Sacramento, where Mykim shared the importance of personal development. Click here to see the segment in the second half of the show.

Mykim believes that anything is possible when you are learning, applying, and growing daily.
